Sleek, sexy, and powerful the Samsung Captivate Glide is one awesome smart phone. Today we get to check out this new phone released mere days after the Samsung DoubleTime, which we reviewed earlier this week. It looks like Samsung has decided to do a test with these two phones to see what characteristics consumers desire most. While the DoubleTime went after gimmicky graphics and an odd overall design, the Glide strives for a small and refined look. It demonstrates the visual characteristics of a futuristic looking iPhone with an attached qwerty keyboard. Let’s see if Samsung has created a masterpiece with the Captivate Glide and if it can beat its nearest competitors.

It seems like every phone coming out these days is a fully functional computer built into a handheld device… I definitely like this trend. The Glide has taken some of the best features from Samsung’s older devices and put them together to create one supposedly perfect phone. After a huge testing phase and many years of experience, performance and looks are both equally important, or so it seems. Let’s look into the tech specs of the Glide to see how it compares to similarly priced devices. Coming with a 4 inch Super AMOLED screen this phone with not disappoint you. Without a doubt you can expect some great visuals to be produced with the phone as this feature is most likely targeted towards the mobile gamers and people who enjoy watching television episodes on mobile devices. Either way, a great screen means you will not get tired of looking as such a beautiful phone.

Some of the other key features of the phone include an updated Android operating system, full connectivity to AT&T’s high-speed data networking, and a 1 ghz dual core Nvidia Tegra 2 processor. So what does all of this geeky mumbo jumbo mean? It means that this phone has some serious power under the hood and will compete head to head with any of the big boys like the iPhone or other prominent Android based systems. Despite all of these amazing features the real reason someone would pick this phone over another similar touch screen phone is the full qwerty keyboard. A touch screen can only emulate the feeling of a depressed key so much, as the audio feedback is nice it just doesn’t cut it, and the physical feedback given when depressing a standard key is much more comfortable. It also happens to come with an upgraded 8-megapixel camera, which should be more than enough resolution for any recreational pictures. Overall a fantastically performing smart phone with a bright future in sight, the Samsung Captivate Glide is one beautiful yet powerful beast.
