LG has fallen behind its competitors in the cell-phone race in recent years and they plan to change that with the new Nitro HD. We can only hope the phone lives up to a name that aggressive. This new phone is expected to become the new flagship LG cell, and plans on fighting in the smart phone market against the typical competitors of the iPhone and Android based systems. Right off the bat it is impossible to miss the huge features and competitive pricing that LG has provided; a 720p display with a price of $249.99 (along with a contract) happens to be very enticing. Even more, this phone will be one of only three phones that currently use the LTE network for AT&T. These are some bold statements to stand behind, let’s see if the Nitro HD can compete with the current leaders.
The tech specs on this phone are quite astonishing and we expect them to be a large selling point on the phone. Coming with a 1.5 ghz dual core processor, 1 gig of RAM, and an 8 megapixel rear camera… this phone truly comes through with solid internals. Another great feature, which we are always happy to see, is the nice 4 gigs of internal storage, while having the availability of adding in another 32 gigs if you wish. It is not too often that we see phone companies incorporating the use of micro SD cards as a storage option for the phone, possibly due to different legal problems, but it is a very simple and effective option. It looks like the Nitro HD might be just what LG needed to get back into the smart phone game.
Now that we have taken care of the internals, lets examine just how pleasing this phone is to the eye. Taking a very similar design to Samsung’s long line of cell phones, the Nitro HD doesn’t carry a lot of originality to the field. Fortunately, this is not a huge problem as long as you enjoy the current style of phones. The typical grey and silver components in a slab like form are fitted together to make a sufficiently pleasing aesthetic. There is a nice rough back to the phone, which will allow for easy holding and supposedly will help people not drop the phone. When viewing the Nitro HD the first thing you will notice is the large and beautiful display. Coming in at 720p HD this display is nothing short of perfection and this will be one of the many reasons why people will check out this phone, and at least keep it as an option over the smaller-screen and lower resolution iPhone. There are clearly some great reasons to check out the Nitro HD, LG has created an extremely appealing phone which will be sure to please any potential buyers, with a great looking design and top-notch features we expect the Nitro to be a big hit!
