In a recent press statement on their own website, Samsung has announced that their new Wave 3 cell phone has just been released to European markets. Following much hype about an all-new OS being attached to this phone, people have been anticipating this release with much excitement. The Bada Mobile Operating System 2.0 is the reason for all of this enthusiasm over the phone as many people are passionately waiting for the day when the iOS from Apple will take a blow strong enough to knock it from it’s reign over all mobile operating systems. Surprisingly we actually started hearing rumors about the new Wave 3 in August when Samsung released some tentative specs but since then there have been many groundbreaking changes.

One of the defining characteristics of this phone is its WVGA Super AMOLED 4-inch screen. Not only huge for our cell phone enthusiast that like reading long emails or even e-books on their phones but with this new screen Samsung is up’ing their game against the iPhone. It is apparent that Samsung wanted to directly contest with the renowned iPhone with their choice of a super high quality display; people just love big and beautiful screens that please the eye. More specifically the display features a 800 by 480 pixel resolution and this works nicely with the large space that has been allotted. Another notable characteristic is a thickness of only 0.39 inches that makes holding the phone while using it with the same hand very possible. I have found that unless I am texting on a smart phone it just feels uncomfortable to hold the phone in one hand and use it with the other. This way with a thin and light design Samsung has made users able to navigate through the touch screen menus and surf the web very easily. Usability and ergonomics seem to be making a much larger impact in new phone to the market as users are growing tired of the same cool-looking yet utterly terrible when it comes to ergonomics design. In the past phones like the Pantech Ease or even the Blackberry Torch just don’t hold a candle to the nice slab design of most popular touch-screen devices. Our digital media users will be happy to hear that the phone comes standard with 3G connectivity and WiFi built in. This is always good for people that love to go on Youtube to watch music videos or on the other hand watching television shows has never been easier. The Wave 3 only comes with 4 gigs of internal storage but as we have seen in the past it has a micro SD slot that is capable of adding another 32 gigs of storage at the owners discretion. Overall a great cell phone, the Wave 3 has some great features and tech specs that will make it one of the best iPhone alternatives in the upcoming holiday season and potential customers should be sure to check it out!
