Big and beautiful are not two words that I often use in the same sentence, but when it comes to the all-new Samsung Series 7… those are the first words that come into my mind. Some people happen to like laptops for the added portability and battery life and are OK with the sacrifices in performance, and others enjoy the high-powered gaming rigs that desktops offer, often with a lacking aesthetic value, but an All-In-One caters to the crowd of computer users that want everything to be perfect.

Swooping in at around $1,199.99 this desktop computer will be hitting your bank account pretty hard if you make to choice to try it out. Fortunately though from first look at the tech specs it seems that Samsung hasn’t had to make any compromises when it comes to the performance end of the rig. That’s one huge check on my list; I absolutely hate to see well-known computer manufacturers leave a huge bottleneck on their system just out of carelessness. The Series 7 has a 1 TB 7200 rpm hard drive that will be just about perfect for any media lover who likes to download television shows and music videos onto their computer. Next up? A satisfying 6 gigs of RAM so you won’t have any trouble with multiple applications running. Finally it comes with a 2.70 GHz Intel Core i5 processor, which is currently the processor-to-have for any mid to high-end rig. Finally the piece de resistance, the beautiful 23 inch touch screen display truly brings this computer together and makes it into more than just another boring gray box, the design is not only sleek but magnificent.

Interestingly enough, the Series 7 comes in a nice Samsung box as expected, but completely flat. It seems as if the 7 is aimed at a tablet-loving group of users also and most-likely graphic artists. The functionality to utilize 100% of the machine in this flat tablet mode is entertaining to say the least. With such a large screen size the computer almost resembles an HDTV because of the board-like design in this mode of use. The base and frame of the computer are a brushed aluminum so not only does it look nice but it also feels high class, as we would expect from a computer in this caliber.

Coming with four USB 2.0 ports you will never need to buy another one of the endlessly tangling, extraordinarily annoying USB hubs which never work when you need them most, so don’t worry if you are a normal user of a keyboard, mouse, and other USB devices at the same time. It also has a full range of the other needed ports like HDMI and VGA. Onto the screen… this full HD 1080p piece of beauty brings out the color in almost any picture or video. It has a non-fatiguing color setting out of the box and is extremely pleasing to the eye. The idea behind having a high-quality screen and HDMI ports is that people can now start switching over into a nice high-end computer for all of their television needs, as more and more TV streaming sites pop up on the web like netflix. Maybe it would accommodate better for this goal if the screens were slightly larger, but then again I’m still waiting for live TV to get streamed in high definition. Wishful thinking? Maybe, but nevertheless the Samsung Series 7 is a great pick for media-lovers or gamers alike.
