What’s the most important factor in a super-bowl viewing party? Some people might say the food, possibly the people invited.. I would say the big screen television that everyone will be staring at for the majority of the night. To me, every TV is not created equal and there is a huge quality difference between a black and white screen and a full 1080p piece of beauty. Honestly over the past few years there has not been too much advancement when it comes to picture quality but there are a few defining factors in HD TV’s these days. One factor that a lot of people fail to recognize is the intuitiveness of the menus and customizability of the television; similar to computer monitors, televisions do not always come standard with the best preset color settings and often require some work to get them to produce the best possible viewing experience. Other features that need to be noticed include whether or not speakers are included with the television, the color quality, and the variety of input controls. Personally it can be a real deal breaker if a television does not come standard with enough HDMI inputs, because of my (not-so) intense love of playing video games, and it can be a real pain to have to undo my digital cable’s HDMI to create a space for my PS3’s cable.

• Ultimate addition to any home theater system
• HDTV produces superior image quality
• V-Chip
• 3D comb filter
• Zoom and Freeze functions
• Two HDMI Ports
• Computer input for use as high performance monitor
• Virtual Surround audio enhancement

Onto the good and bad, it seems that Vizio has created a very strong performer on the actual viewing quality level. The colors are not only crisp but also vivid and I’ve got to say that it is also a sharp looking television from the outside. From a male perspective the 720p resolution is what sticks out, but it would never be able to enter my home if the females did not approve of the aesthetic look, an almost modern yet simple design. One thing to note is that this TV is actually not full 1080p, though in today’s age it is very hard to spot the difference in pixel size, rather than the actual quality of the TV. What I am trying to say is that the television companies have tried to brainwash the consumer population into relating viewing quality with the number pixels, when in fact the resolution is nothing more than a number of pixels and refers to the size of the produced image. Realistically, you will be able to tell how good, or bad, a television is just by looking at two of them side by side. This is always the best way to compare televisions if you are debating between two well-known brands. This HDTV comes with a great company behind it, and you can expect a fantastic performer out of this 42-inch TV. Vizio does have other sizes of this model available, and this specific model retails around $550.
