Sleek, stylish, and stunning. The Macbook Pro 13 inch is a thing of beauty, the simple nature of this laptop is what makes it so visually appealing, not to mention one of the most popular pieces of equipment in today’s market. Apple has really hit a home run with these newer laptops; they have accomplished a minimalistic styling that is near perfection. All of this does come at a price though, and a hefty one at that. The stock 13 inch Macbook Pro comes in around $1,100 and has a whole slew of available upgrades. You can increase the RAM, and hard drive right at the store if you so desire, and for the price of a couple hundred dollars they do the maintenance right in the back of their shop while you wait. The other possible upgrade includes a sort of package deal, where they give you a better processor, graphics card, and possibly a higher resolution screen, depending on which computer size you have chosen. Needless to say, even with the minimalistic design that Apple has adopted, they have created many different options for you to be able to call a laptop, “your own.”
Another interesting part of the laptop customization, is the sheer availability of aftermarket covers, cases, and optional equipment like an external hard drive that you can pick up. Out of the many computer manufacturers I can definitely say that Apple has an amazing ability to create a product that not only looks well but functions to the same degree. Right now, I am sitting in front of, and typing on, this quiet yet powerful little machine. The most surprising part of this laptop is absolutely the ergonomic design and right from the first time you boot this guy up, you can tell just how much thought went into the design. Everything from the way the keyboard is planted into the solid aluminum core, to allow ample movement and room between keys when typing, to the useful battery power indicator that can be accessed from an external button. I have never seen a laptop where this amount of forethought and scrutiny was put into the production. If I had to venture a guess, I would estimate that the reason for such a high price tag on these laptops is the vast research and development stage that Apple puts them through. At least you are never at risk of having something come to you with problems that can’t be fixed, or minor cosmetic issues which a company of different caliber would just put off as a minor defect.
Some of the most important tech specs on the MBP 13 inch, are the newly implemented Core i5 processors, more specifically the Sandy Bridge line of chips. These are by and far considered the strongest and more effective processors in this price range. The usual 320 gig hard drive, and integrated graphics are seen in the stock version of the laptop, though we must note that there are many different versions floating around. There is the slight possibility that the MBP you purchase from Amazon has different specs than the same model at Newegg, this is due to the large customization process that we detailed above. Lastly I would like to note that some of the most interesting parts to this laptop, are in the software, and we could not describe the intense feeling you get when using the multi-touch touch pad, its like a little iPhone integrated into your laptop, one of my favorite personal features. It makes moving around the desktop, and general computing absolutely fabulous. The 13 inch Macbook Pro is not only a visually stunning, but mechanically amazing laptop which does come at a large price, but we absolutely recommend looking at this product if you are in the market for a new laptop.
