One of the best-performing cameras that has become synonymous with great photos is the Leica. The German-based company has decided to make its cameras more available to the average user by creating the Leica V-Lux 20. This camera captures video, excellent still images, and sells for about $700. This is a great camera if you want to own a Leica but are not willing to spend more than $20,000 on their best product.
The Leica is able to offer high-performance lens that have a range of 25 to 300mm and makes it an excellent camera for macro photography, wide-angle views, and shooting distant objects. The V-Lux 20 is able to offer sharp images in every mode and also has a useful optical image stabilizer. The stabilizer setting allows you to take awesome photos whether you are right in front of your subject or far away. The V-Lux 20 also comes with GPS for tagging your photos. Wherever you take a photo, the Leica will tag it with its location. The only exception is in China. The Chinese are not too appreciative of GPS technology and this feature does not work there. The Leica will also allow you to take photos in 3 ratios which include 4:3, 3:2, and 16:9.
The downside to the Leica V-Lux 20 is the cost and its inability to capture HD video. Leica was made for the purpose of shooting amazing still photos, not video. If you are looking for a camera that is able to capture photos and take HD video, you may want to consider the Panasonic Lumix TZ10. This camera is a little slower but takes photos that are in the same ballpark as the Leica. In addition, the TZ10 is able to offer all these great features at about half the price.
