If you are looking for a camera that offers a little bit of all the good things, you should consider the LUMIX DMC-LX5. The Panasonic LUMIX DMC-LX5 is a notable camera due to its amazing photo quality, excellent lens, and ergonomic design that can easily produce great shots.

The Panasonic LUMIX DMC-LX5 is a retro-looking camera that has not deviated from its predecessor, the LX3. It has incorporated some amenities that have made it a better performing camera than its predecessor such as a faster boot time, faster shutter speed, and 31 percent increase in light sensitivity. In addition, the LX5 is able to reduce the amount of fuzziness shot at long distances using a digital optical stabilizer. This camera also has an optical zoom of 3.8x and LCD screen that is 3 inches in size. This 10.1 megapixel camera is able to deliver high-quality photos using a lens that is capable of delivering 24 to 90mm pictures with aperture settings that can be change from 2.0 to 3.3 in the f-number range. It is also able to deliver HD video in a resolution of 1,280 x 720 pixels.

The LX5 is able to shoot photos in an ISO range of 80 to 12,800. The downside is that you can only take 10 megapixel photos in an ISO range of 3,200. This camera is reliable but has some software issue that may make JPEG processing difficult. Other than some slight kinks in the software, the DMC-LX5 is a highly dependable camera and will be sure to deliver some amazing photos. The Canon PowerShot S95 is another camera that may be able to compete with the Panasonic LUMIX DMC-LX5. This camera is about 2 ounces lighter and is more compact. Both cameras can be purchased for about $400.

I'm a "pro" that shoots mostly live concerts and some of the national acts won't allow DSLRs into the venues. I purchased this camera to use in those instances and I'm very happy with this toy. I take it to all of the shows and find myself reaching for it almost as much as my big camera.
