When I was finally able to upgrade to a new phone, I decided to upgrade to the Blackberry Torch since I have had some pretty good experiences with Blackberry phones. It is by far the best phone I have ever had. It has the same Blackberry setup as all the other Blackberry phones, but also has some awesome additions. You have a choice of operating the phone entirely by the touch screen, by the keyboard, track pad, and buttons, or a mix of the two. It makes everything much faster and easier to use.
I love how I can switch between keyboards by either using the touch screen keyboard or the physical keyboard. I think this is a step up from the iPhone because the iPhone only has a touch screen keyboard. The Blackberry Torch touch screen keyboard can also be used in landscape mode, so it is similar to the iPhone in that aspect. The only thing that is a little bothersome with the physical keyboard is that when I’m texting, the weight of the phone puts pressure on my wrists and it starts to hurt a little bit after awhile.
The Blackberry Torch also has 3G, which is wonderful! The other Blackberry I had only had Edge and the internet went very slow. Since the speed has increased with the Torch, I can do a lot more things with the internet than I could before. 3G burns out the battery pretty quickly though and I find that sometimes I have to charge it twice a day. If I keep it on Edge for most of the day, I only have to charge it once at night and it’s all set for the next day.
I would highly recommend this phone to anyone looking for a really great Smartphone. It is the best Blackberry to ever hit the cellular phone market.

BB get´s a little bit old. normally phones are getting better but BB get´s a little bit behind Android and iOS 4. But the disign of BB is cool and trend setting.

dont agree with the torch verdict. the touch screen does not come close to the iphone for ease of use. i have a BB 9700 bold and an iphone 3gs, my son also has an iphone 4. for me it BB all the way but not the torch....

could agree with this review if it is the first (real) smarthphone you've ever had in your hands, but the torch (BB's flagship at the moment) doesn't even come close to any high-end android, or if you're less into freedom, and more into looks, the Iphone. things like "3g" aren't an extra, they are nessecary to use a smartphone. Probably the main reason people are sticking with BB is because they never (really) gave the other smarthphones a try. BB is great for business users, who recieve a lot of mail, but even Iphone and android do this better in recent updates. So I wouldn't recommend a torch, unless you're a business user and only want to text. If you're a normal person who likes fun (games) and a lot of media (and social media) choice, go for an android, or the latest iphone. (wouldn't recomend a Nokia smartphone either ;)

I would disagree that people using BB haven't given other smartphones a try. I used Xperia X10 and iPhone 4 but I just couldn't resist the keyboard of BB Bold 9780. It feels so much better typing on real keys, but that is just my personal opinion.
