While this is the most colorful of the ten-inch netbooks I’ve seen, I would have to agree with what others are saying about the HP PC, which is that it isn’t really worth the extra money you pay to purchase it. However, if you like pink and want some features you can brag about to your friends then the price shouldn’t turn you off.

Yes, most netbooks (no matter the company) run for about $299, and maybe a little bit more if the machine carries extra features. Yes, this netbook is priced by HP at $379, for reasons most don’t understand.

HP gives you a light pink netbook that would normally only appeal to females with a 7200RPM hard-drive, which is honestly not much better than the standard RPMs you can get from any other netbook on the market. As I said, the pink would attract those women that don’t want an over-sized laptop PC, not to mention the fact that it’s tinier and in most cases will perfectly fit the consumer’s needs.

One downside to this purchase is that the battery is extremely bulky and could have been replaced with a normal netbook battery like HP uses in all other models of theirs. This, along with the “better” hard-drive bumps up the price another $80, but is it worth it? From a nerd perspective, no not really. From the average consumer’s perspective it can be debated, as most average Americans won’t know how the RPM count improves your computer.

The touch pad is by far the biggest I’ve seen on a ten-inch netbook, giving it a Macbook feel, as the buttons are built-in around the corners of the pad. The touch pad also features a number of finger controls, but HP has a long way to go before it is Apple quality.
